ВЗАЄМНІ РЕПРЕЗЕНТАЦІЇ США ТА ВЕЛИКОЇ БРИТАНІЇ: ПОЛІТИЧНІ НАРАТИВИ, ПОПУЛЯРНА КУЛЬТУРА ТА КОНФЛІКТИ ІДЕНТИЧНОСТЕЙ (2017–2021 РР.)

Анотація. У статті проаналізовано взаємне сприйняття США та Великої Британії у політичному дискурсі, медійному просторі й популярній культурі та вплив даних чинників на формування двосторонніх відносин. Мета статті – комплексне дослідження культурних та ідентифікаційних чинників, що визначали зміст і динаміку «особливого партнерства» між США та Великою Британією у 2017–2021 рр.

Методологія статті. Використано метод історіографічного аналізу, історико-порівняльний метод для аналізу перебігу офіційних візитів та зустрічей лідерів і міністрів держав. Проведено контент-аналіз медіа ресурсів США та Великої Британії. Застосовано метод культурно-історичної інтерпретації з метою аналізу відображення країн в популярній культурі, що дозволило оцінити вплив політичних та соціальних процесів на їх сприйняття.

Наукова новизна цього дослідження полягає в аналізі американських і британських медіа, популярної культури з метою виявлення специфіки медійних і культурних репрезентацій двосторонніх відносин Вашингтона та Лондона.

Автор доходить висновку, що у 2017–2021 рр. взаємні репрезентації США й Великої Британії у медіа, політичних заявах та культурних наративах відтворювали уявлення про стратегічну близькість держав. Зовнішньополітична стратегія Великої Британії «Глобальна Британія» та стратегія національної безпеки США 2017 року визначали культуру як один із найважливіших чинників формування своєї політики. Протягом 2017–2021 рр. відбулася низка зустрічей лідерів держав, в ході яких звучали символічні заяви на підтвердження «особливості» відносин. Двосторонні конференції відігравали роль ретрансляторів спільних цілей у зовнішній політиці. Водночас у британських та американських медіа тривали гострі дискусії щодо окремих подій, зокрема, Брекзиту, підписання нової торговельної угоди та шлюбу британського принца Гаррі та американської акторки Меган Маркл.
